Boondi Raita

Boondi Raita

A Raita is prepared with beaten curd/ yogurt and seasoned with cumin powder, red chilly powder , black pepper powder, coriander / mint or other herbs and spices. There are many varieties of raita such as cucumber raita, onion raita, carrot raita, fruit raita, mix veg raita and boondi raita. Some families like simple beaten curd and flavor with mustard seeds and curry leaves.  I have prepared boondi raita . Boondi is tiny fried gram flour balls. These balls  very easy to make at home or can buy it from market .They are crispy and salty balls.

Ingredient:

2 cup curd/ yogurt

Fresh chopped coriander for garnish

Method:

1.In a bowl, add curd and mix it well.

2.In another bowl, add 1 cup warm water and add boondi and keep aside for 10 mins.

3.Now strain the boondi with steel strainer .

4.Add this boondi in curd and mix it slowly.

5.Add roasted cumin seeds, red chilly powder, black pepper powder, and black salt and mix it.

6.Add chopped coriander and mix it well.

Serve it with hot kachori and Panjabi chole.
